OUR STORY

Welcome to Abi Joe Hair formally known as TopChic Hair and Beauty!

At the time of opening Top Chic Hair and Beauty, founder and director Abi Joe Williams had only 4 years experience in hairdressing and very limited business knowledge. But she did have drive and passion and that’s what Abi gave to achieve what you see today.

Top Chic Hair and Beauty started out in a little room upstairs to a gym but only 5 years later it became a fully fledged hair salon with a team of 5 amazing stylists and the clientele to match.

2020 into 2021 really shook every part of the hair and beauty industry and although forced to close it gave Abi Joe time to reflect. After months and months of forced closure what better time to come back with a fresh rebrand, a new modern website and a whole new feel to our forever growing business.

So many salons, and many other businesses, didn't survive the global pandemic and Abi Joe Hair feels to lucky to have ridden out the storm to come back bigger and better. It is time to welcome you all back with open arms and celebrate our wonderful industry.

Abi Joe Hair is all about cut and colour. We also specialise in barbering and bridal styling along with a small selection of beauty treatments.

Our team have great knowledge and understanding on clients requests and always have the clients best interests at heart.

We work together to create a bespoke service for each individual and we can't wait to see you!

Meet The Team

Abi

I am Abi age 26 and I am the salon owner, senior stylist and barber at Topchic. I have over 9 years experience in all things hair. In 2012 I started my apprenticeship in a salon in Cardiff. I was completely thrown into it from the start and I am thankful for that. I was given all variety of different hair and services to do, this has given me the versatility that I thrive on today. I qualified and worked in Cardiff a little while but my passion was always to have my own business.

In 2015 age 21 I got given the opportunity to rent a room in my local gym. This was a risk but a risk worth taking and boy did it pay off. 5 and a half years on and my business is doing amazing, none of it possible without the support of our amazing clientele.

I specialise mainly in colour from Blondes to Brights to Balayage I love it all. I love big changes, when that person trusts in you, your skill and your knowledge to create something beautiful there is no better feeling.

Another love of mine is bridal/updo’s and general styling. I live for a bouncy blow dry and love helping brides and their families look amazing on their special days.

Joelle

I am Joelle age 27 and I am a Senior stylist, beauty therapist and make up artist at Topchic. I started out my beauty career 9 years ago, straight from school. I also always had a passion for hair which then led me into an apprenticeship 7 years ago. I have now been with Topchic 4.5 years going from junior stylist to senior stylist. I have absolutely loved every minute.

I love to do is balayage because of the different techniques you can use and each look being completely different for each individual. I also love to do vivid colour, it really brings out my creative side which is why I started hairdressing.

I have always enjoyed working along side Abi at weddings and for special occasions doing make up and hair. Its such an honour getting everyone ready and to be a part of someone’s special day.

Tina

I am Tina age 31 and I am a senior stylist at Topchic. I have 15 years experience in the industry. I have been at Topchic for 2.5 years, I love the team I work with. My passion is hairdressing and is as much now as it was 15 years ago. I love the variety that the job gives you each day, there is no day ever the same.

I love cutting and styling most of all, whether it be a restyle or just a trim I enjoy creating beautiful shape and movement on all my clients. I enjoy taking clients on a journey from basin to blow dry.

When you make that client smile and feel a million dollars about themselves its the best feeling in the world.

Ellen

I am Ellen age 30 and I am a stylist at Topchic. I have 6 years hairdressing experience and have been at Topchic for 7 months. I absolutely love my job and everything that goes with it.

Getting your hair done is truly uplifting, I love helping people feel beautiful and seeing the amazing results and transformations of what we can do with cut and colour. For me it doesn’t matter whether it’s the excitement of a big change or the familiarity of a root touch its all just as fun and fulfilling.

I also love all things pink!
